Oil is the only one liquid and fossil fuel. At the moment it is among the most important energy sources and the most important strategic raw material for the chemical industry. The largest deposits of oil in the world are located in the U.S., Russia, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Iran, Indonesia and others. According to the latest researches the global oil reserves are about 150 Gt, half of which are located in the Middle East. Oil consumption is growing steadily and this leads to an increase of annual yield of approximately 10%. Today it is generally accepted the theory of the organic origin of oil. According to this theory the sources for its formation are animal and plant debris. Over the time they undergo profound reducing changes in the cooperation of anaerobic microorganisms and catalytic action of alumosilicates.
